Klein Oak Key Players and Storylines

2025 was an agonizing year for Klein Oak. The Panthers lost three of their four district games by just one score, including a 46-42 defeat to Tomball Memorial in the final week of the regular season. If they had won just one of those games, they would have made the playoffs. Instead, they watched at home for the third time in four years.

This year, they’ll be led offensively by their star power out of the backfield. West Virginia commit quarterback Andre Phillip II is a dynamic leader who also stars on the Klein Oak track team. He’s joined by four-star junior running back Micah Rhodes (1,307 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns), who is already a three-year letterman.

Bryce Evins is another highly regarded athlete who starred as the quarterback for Klein Oak’s freshman team last year. He can also play some defensive back, a position group where Klein Oak is especially stacked. Meacham Hall was a first team all-district selection last year, while junior Antonio Dural (468 receiving yards, 15 tackles) is a two-way standout at both corner and receiver. At safety, Quincy Carter is a UTSA commit while junior Jayce Fields and sophomore Kimon Decuir are ready to make an instant impact at the varsity level. Both have Division I offers.

It’s not just the skill positions either on defense. Up front, 6’5″ defensive end Max Farmer brings plenty of length off the edge while defensive tackle Phillip Hawkins will be a force in the interior after earning second team all-district honors in 2025. Behind them, linebacker Zack Ruysenaars tackles everything in sight and has earned back-to-back first team all-district honors.

The Panthers have an impressive combination of proven varsity stars and exciting young talent coming up the pipeline. Expect them to be in the playoff mix in District 15-6A this fall.
