AUSTIN- On an emotional night at Cavalier Stadium, Lake Travis started fast and never looked back en route to a 51-7 win over Cedar Park Vista Ridge.

Quarterback Matthew Baldwin completed a beautifully executed pass to Garrett Wilson to put the Cavaliers on the board for tte first touchdown. As if this play wasn’t enough to set the tone of the game, Baldwin then completed another pass to Wilson for a 78-yard touchdown.

The defense would matched the intensity of the offense and shut down Vista Ridge. The Cavaliers kept rolling through the Rangers with a62-yard touchdown from Kyle Wakefield and a Matthew Baldwin touchdown run.

The Rangers were able to get some momentum back with a trick play that put 7 points under their name. That was the only highlight for Vista Ridge as the Cavaliers would add two more scores and force two interceptions from  Ty Badciong and Ryan Wilkins before the end of the half.

A running clock in the second half would shorten the game as the Lake Travis backups got an opportunity to show what they can do.

The atmosphere was characterized by an ironic mix of excitement and a twinge of sadness as parents and families of senior players filed onto the field to celebrate the last home game for the 2018 graduates against Vista Ridge.

Lake Travis (7-2, 4-1) has a chance to put a bow on an eventful regular season next Friday night against Austin Vandegrift.
