Lake Travis Stays Perfect, District Play Next

With another impressive victory, Lake Travis concluded non-district play.

So far, they feel pretty good about the results.

On Thursday night, the Lake Travis annihilated San Marcos 62-13 at Cavalier Stadium. The all-time series currently has Lake Travis up 3-2, but the games haven’t been particularly close since the Cavaliers became a powerhouse in the 2000s.

Lake Travis quarterback Chaston Ditta threw for three touchdowns and scrambled for an additional rushing score, now totaling nine touchdowns on his year’s total. Wide receiver Patrick Colby hauled in seven grabs for 67 yards.

Backup quarterbacks Noah Hopkins and Logan King even found the end zone.

The Cavaliers defense came into the contest holding opposing offenses to a mere 24.7 points per game. Benjamin Soules led the highlight reel for the unit, blocking a punt and returning it for a touchdown.

The undefeated non-district start marks the second straight for Lake Travis.

Despite their strong start, the team team is staying humble under coach Hank Carter.

“I’d probably give us a 7,” coach Carter told the Austin American-Statesman. “I base it off what’s possible with our potential. I think we’re on the right track. I think we’re talented, but we can always play better.”

The Cavaliers play the Bowie Bulldogs next week. In their last meeting, the Cavaliers outmatched their opponent 66-14 last November.
