Lake Travis Stuns Undefeated #4 Vandegrift, 13-10

Round Rock Hail Roof Inspection

On Friday night, the Lake Travis Cavaliers traveled to Vandegrift High School to play the Vipers in the opening round of the playoffs.

Vandegrift Vipers

Quarterback Deuce Adams completed 12 of 21 passes for 107 yards, throwing for one touchdown and rushing for 17 yards. Adams connected through the air with Miles Coleman who caught 6 passes for 41 yards, Jase Skoglund who had one reception for a 30-yard touchdown, and Eli Adams who caught 3 passes for 30 yards. The rushing game didn’t help the Vipers progress downfield as Brendan Fournier rushed for 31 yards on 9 carries, and Zaid Oliver rushed for 12 yards on 2 carries.

Lake Travis Cavaliers

Cavaliers Quarterback Chaston Ditta was slinging the ball through the air, completing 17 of 33 passes for 209 yards, throwing for one touchdown, and rushing for 36 yards. Ditta connected with Kadyn Leon on 12 receptions for 172 yards, scoring once, and Dylan Cullers, who had an 18-yard reception. While the Cavaliers were doing damage through the air, the run game was successful, as Nico Hamilton rushed for 130 yards on 28 carries.

As the game went back and forth all night, with each team making multiple critical stops, it came down to the final drive. The Cavalier’s offense set up a 23-yard field goal for kicker Braydon Doane to seal the deal and send Lake Travis to the next round.

Lake Travis wins a nail-biter 13-10.

Next week, Lake Travis will take on 10-1 Johnson, who is coming off a 36-31 win against New Braunfels. Both teams will make the trip to a neutral site to battle it out.
