Episode 137 of the Texas HS Football Podcast features host Taylor Arenz sitting down with new Southlake Carroll head coach Lee Munn as he prepares to lead one of Texas high school football’s most recognizable programs.
Munn was promoted in February after spending eight seasons as Southlake Carroll’s defensive coordinator and associate head coach under Riley Dodge. During that stretch, he helped the Dragons remain a perennial contender while developing one of the state’s strongest defensive units.
In the interview, Munn shares his journey into coaching and lessons learned while working under legendary coach Todd Dodge at Marble Falls and Austin Westlake. He also discusses what it means to inherit a program where competing for championships is the expectation every season.
The Dragons finished 14-1 in 2025 and reached the Class 6A Division II state semifinals, with Munn’s defense allowing just 12.5 points per game. Now, he must replace another talented senior class while developing new leaders for the 2026 season.
Munn talks about summer workouts, maintaining Carroll’s established culture, and helping this year’s team create its own identity. With another talented roster returning, Episode 137 gives fans a closer look at the coach now responsible for leading the next chapter of Southlake Carroll football.
