One of the most recognized names in Texas high school football coaching circles calling it a career. Per Matt Stepp, Liberty Hill head coach Jerry Vance announced his retirement on Tuesday.
Vance was the head coach at Liberty Hill for the past 15 seasons, compiling a record of 164-61. During his time as head coach, he led the Panthers to back-to-back state titles in 2007 and 2008 and built a program that was a consistent contender for a state title. His “Slot-T” offense became a known staple for his teams.
This past season, Vance and the Panthers went 8-4 and advanced to the area round of the 4A Division I state playoffs before being eliminated by China Spring.
