Jeff Miller is moving on.
After being the backbone of program for almost 15 years, Rockdale ISD announced Wednesday that the Tigers longtime head coach will not be returning.
The move comes on the heels of an 8-3 campaign.
Miller leaves to become the new head coach at Cypress-Fairbanks, where he hopes to achieve equal success. His career with Rockdale was highlighted by winning the 2017 Class 3A, Division I championship.
The Bobcats went 11-1 last season with their lone loss coming in the area round of the playoffs against Katy, and Cy-Fair has posted at least 11 wins in each of the last three seasons, including 2017, when it went undefeated en route to winning the Class 6A, Division II state championship.
Miller takes over for Ed Pustejovsky, who announced his retirement last month after 35 years with the program.
