Since 2006, Bill Howard dedicated his life to the Wylie Pirates.
Now, it is time to move on.
After 14 years as Wylie’s head coach, @WylieISD released a tweet Friday morning announcing Howard’s retirement.
During his tenure, Howard guided the Pirates to the 2005 Class 5A state final and the 2010 Class 4A state semifinals. In 2013, Wylie advanced to the state quarterfinals.
Last year, the Pirates posted an overall record of 6-5 and finished tied with Sachse atop the district standings.
Jimmy Carter, who will take over the program, moves up from his position as assistant head coach/defensive coordinator.
