Former Brenham standout and Longhorns defensive tackle Malcom Brown is returning to the Lone Star state. After seven seasons in the NFL, Brown will take on the role of head football coach at St. Dominic Savio High School. The Eagles will compete in the TAPPS Division I, the largest classification for private school 11-man football in the state. Last season, the team adhered to an independent schedule, ending the year on a 5- game winning streak and an 8-2 record. Brown will replace former coach Rod Green.

“I’m excited to be here, to take this job, and to lead this group,” Brown said. This team will work hard each day to be the best.”

Coached by Glen West at Brenham, Brown was a three-year starter, accounting for 125 tackles, 66 tackles for loss, 24 sacks, and nine forced fumbles during his high school football career. Through that span, Brenham posted a 34-5 record. While Brown was a sophomore, the team reached the fourth round of the state playoffs.

After graduation, he stayed local, attending the University of Texas. After a three-season stint with the Longhorns, Brown was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2015 NFL draft. In his pro career, Brown recorded 304 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, and 13.5 sacks. He also has bragging rights to two Super Bowl rings.
