Kingsville ISD has its new leader for the Kingsville King Brahmas.

The Kingsville ISD Board of Trustees approved Marcus Odell Graham as the program’s next athletic director and head football coach, giving the Brahmas a coach with experience leading and building offenses at the Texas high school level.

Graham comes to Kingsville after serving as offensive coordinator at Port Arthur Memorial. Before that, he was the head coach at Beaumont United, giving him experience both as a play caller and as the person responsible for running an entire program.

He replaces Ruben Garcia, who resigned in late April after three seasons with the Brahmas. Garcia helped push Kingsville King back in the right direction, finishing 18-14 with back-to-back playoff appearances.

That recent turnaround matters. The Brahmas went 8-3 in 2024, then followed it with a 7-4 season in 2025. That came after a rough stretch that included records of 3-7 in 2023, 1-7 in 2022, 2-8 in 2021, 0-7 in 2020, and 2-8 in 2019.

So Graham is not walking into a program starting from scratch. He is taking over a team that has already started to believe again.

The Kingsville King Brahmas have 17 playoff appearances in program history and play at Javelina Stadium, which has a listed capacity of 15,000. That gives the program one of the more recognizable home settings in South Texas football.

Now the challenge shifts to Graham.

The Brahmas have momentum, recent playoff experience, and a community that has seen the program climb back into contention. Graham’s job is to keep that climb going, build on the last two seasons, and make sure Kingsville King stays in the postseason conversation.
