Per USA Today, ESPN has unveiled their 2017 GEICO ESPN High School Football Showcase Schedule and the tour will be making a stop in Texas come Week 5. On Thursday, Sept. 28 the matchup between Denton Ryan vs Denton from C.H. Collins Stadium will be televised on ESPN2.

The star power from Denton Ryan will have a chance to be showcased nationally with top recruits such as quarterback and Oklahoma State commit Spencer Sanders and wide receiver and Texas Tech commit Gabriel Douglas headlining the game. Three-star prospects such as wide receiver Chritauskie Dove and defensive back Jordan Rucker will also have eyes zeroed in on them as the uncommitted duo both have offers from FBS programs.

It will also be a big night for Denton and their first-year head coach Billy Miller. Denton just recently named sophomore Landry Kinne as their starting quarterback recently and it will be a big test for the young signal caller. It could also give possible insight to the future of Denton High football, who have made the playoffs in each of the past three seasons.

Last year’s matchup resulted in a 35-14 win for Denton Ryan.
