Medina Valley Runs Past Warren in Dominant 63-20 Victory

Medina Valley entered Week 2 at 1-0 after rolling past Churchill 59-21, while San Antonio Warren also came in unbeaten after opening its season with a 56-21 victory over Jay.

Medina Valley quickly turned the matchup into a showcase for its rushing attack. The Panthers piled up 401 yards on the ground and scored all eight of their offensive touchdowns by rushing. Hunter Hurtado led the way with 140 yards and two touchdowns, while Kourtney Bratcher added 101 yards and three scores. Jayden Salas-Adonay finished with 66 yards and three touchdowns.

The Panthers also created opportunities defensively. Medina Valley forced four turnovers, including two interceptions, and used those extra possessions to build a 28-6 halftime advantage. Warren quarterback Mac Anderson connected with Deonta Corley for a 49-yard touchdown and Julius Daniel for a 64-yard score, but the Warriors could not keep pace with Medina Valley’s ground game.

Medina Valley kept adding points after halftime and eventually closed the night with a 66-yard punt return touchdown from Kevin Straughter. The 63-point performance gives the Panthers 122 points through their first two games as they improve to 2-0. Warren falls to 1-1.

Medina Valley returns home Thursday to face United South, while Warren opens district play against Marshall.
