The Mexia Black Cats are searching for a new head coach.
Three years after taking over the position, Frank Sandoval is gone following a 7-4 season that resulted in a second-place finish in the District 8-4A, Division II standings and a trip into the second round of the playoffs.
The news was announced via Twitter earlier in the day.
Sandoval inherited a 2-8 team and went 6-6 in his first season, winning a bi-district championship, before suffering through a 2-8 showing of his own in 2018.
