Lee Wigington earned a lot of wins last season. Now, he earned something perhaps even more valuable.
Midlothian Heritage posted a 9-5 record in 2019, including a 4-1 showing in District 9-4A, Division I, reaching the state quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion Carthage.
Monday morning, the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation honored the Jaguars head coach with the Grant Teaff “Coaching Beyond the Game” Award, and his team’s record was only part of the reason for the honor.
Wiginton has a record of 132-77 during his 19-year head coaching career, while also notching at least one playoff appearance at every stop (Bosqueville, Comfort, Mexia, Midlothian, Midlothian Heritage).
