Offensive Stat Monster – Kennedy Brooks, RB, Mansfield
So, what exactly did Brooks do? Oh, he just ran for 226 yards in the first quarter. He finished with 323 yards and 4 touchdowns, a ridiculous stat line by any comparison.
Insane Play Of The Week
A&M Consolidated didn’t end up winning the game, but that doesn’t take away from the greatness of this catch to tie the game up before halftime.

Most Surprising Score Of The Night
Euless Trinity 20, Byron Nelson 21 (OT)
Is there anyone in the state outside of the Byron Nelson coaches and players who predicted this outcome? If you did, buy a lottery ticket immediately. Trinity wasn’t playing their starting quarterback, but that doesn’t take away from the victory in any way, shape or form. Close runner ups were Lake Travis/Westlake and The Woodlands/West Brook for the sheer domination of their victories.
“Where Was The Defense?” Score Of The Night
Argyle 64 Decatur 35 final. Argyle goes to 5-0 (1-0) QB Dane Ledford throws for 289 yards & 3 TD. Don Williams rushes for 174 yards #txhsfb

This one looked pretty tight at the beginning, but Argyle pulled away. There were over 50 points in the first half alone.
6-Man “Are We Sure This Isn’t Basketball” Score Of The Night
Water Valley 84, Rankin 70
— 🏈🔴Jeff Jones⚫️🏈 (@coachjdjones) October 8, 2016
Water Valley and Rankin were awesome in this complete shootout.
Note: This is in no way disparaging 6-Man football. These games are awesome and you should definitely see one multiple times in your life.

This celebration picture from Gregory-Portland vs. Calallen is awesome. The dude on the right really got up.
Five Teams I Really Like
The Woodlands
What a dominating win from the Highlanders. They dropped over 70 points on West Brook and only gave up 7 points. Anyone who is still doubting the legitimacy of this team is insane. They’re humming on all cylinders right now, but they need to carry this insane momentum and hype down the road to succeed.
Galena Park North Shore
When your only loss is to Manvel and you just beat a really good Atascocita team, you’re having a pretty good season. This is par for the course for North Shore historically, but in a relatively weaker region this win has much more meaning in terms of the playoffs. The Mustangs are set up to win their district and cruise into the playoffs with a very good seed.
Munday
The Moguls are quietly putting together a very, very good season. They’ve been on cruise control after an opening season loss to Hawley, and their most recent victory was a dominating one over Archer City.
CC Calallen
The ‘Cats aren’t letting anything get them down after they had to give up two wins due to ineligibility. Their offense is good enough to crush some really good playoff teams.
Christoval
The Cougars are another one of those quiet undefeated teams who are going to give some traditional power a loss or at least a scare. Outside of a victory over Grape Creek, the Christoval defense have been more than solid. That’s a recipe for success, no matter what way you slice it.
Other Things That Deserve Attention
Marcus Beats Hebron In Wild Finish – We’d be talking about this win if Byron Nelson hadn’t beaten Trinity. Hebron came back and almost won, but Marcus pulled it out in the last minutes.

Springtown Wins The Inflatable Contest Forever – The Porcupines lost, but as EJ Holland tweeted, they win forever with this inflatable.
Springtown took an L tonight but is still winning with this inflatable #txhsfb pic.twitter.com/wLAVZMGcKu

Dickinson Takes A Surprising Loss – It’s not that Clear Springs isn’t good, I just think that Dickinson’s defense is better than giving up 23 points. The Gators have been mercurial on offense to say the least, but I still expect them to pull it all together come playoff time.
Ezukanma Catches Five Touchdown Passes – Erik Ezukanma showed out in a win over Weatherford, catching a whopping 5 touchdown passes, completely dominating the scoring for both teams. Ezukanma is going to get a lot of offers after this season is over.
