The College Station football program has existed for all of four seasons and on Saturday afternoon, they made their own history. The Cougars came up with big plays to take down defending state champion Aledo for a 20-19 win to clinch their first state title.
From the play of Marquez Perez to the strong defensive play by the Cougars, it was a team effort all around. In the end, it was the ground attack of senior running back Da’monrick “DaDa” Anderson that sparked College Station en route to the win. His effort earned him the TexasHSFootball MVP of the state championship presented by VCRNow.

In his final high school game, Anderson finished with 99 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also added 27 yards receiving to help his offense move the ball down the field. Thanks to his effort, the Cougars are taking a state title trophy back to the Brazos Valley.
As the winner of the MVP award, Anderson will receive a commemorative custom MVP football, a full scholarship to the Football University Camp of their choice as well as an image collage.
