All eyes were on Malik Hornsby as he made his official commitment announcement Wednesday afternoon. Hornsby’s decision was broadcasted on ESPNU. The 4-star quarterback out of Fort Bend Marshall High School chose Arkansas as the program where he will be continuing his football career.
With offers from places like Alabama, Texas A&M, Texas, Purdue, Baylor, Auburn, Oregon, SMU and more Hornsby certainly had his pick of Power 5 schools. Hornsby helped lead his squad to a 14-2 season and state title game before dropping a 45-42 thriller against Aledo.
The rare-dual threat quarterback is talented when getting the ball through the air, but he’s also quick on his feet and will add the mix to the Razorback’s squad.
On his expectations for fall, Hornsby says he fully expects to “Come in and start, but if not then learn the system.” He hopes to help bring a National Championship to Arkansas and promises the Woo Pig Sooie Nation to be great. “They’re going to see the best quarterback that I can be; day by day, game by game.”
