7:06 AM – Let’s get today started! Mack Brown is definitely showing some signs of not being a huge NSD fan on ESPNU’s coverage.

7:10 AM – The Houston Area has us starting early this morning.

7:13 AM – This is an absolutely staggering and unreal number of recruits.

7:19 AM –

7:21 AM –

7:23 AM – There’s a lot to love about Cade Brewer’s game, this assessment isn’t wrong at all.

7:25 AM – Katy TE Parker Eichenberger is now a Cougar. Our own Alex Mayes wrote about him here.

7:28 AM – McLane Carter seems ready to go at Texas Tech.

7:31 AM – Texas A&M has been a recruiting juggernaut over the past few years. It’ll need to translate to big wins in the future, though.

7:34 AM – “NOTHING IS OVER!” – Rambo: First Blood.

7:35 AM – Another tight end is locked in for the Longhorns.

7:38 AM – More tight end work, this time with a Tulsa to TCU late flip.

7:40 AM – We’re really high on UTSA’s recruiting class this cycle, they’ve really done an excellent job. Here’s the latest for the Roadrunners.

7:41 AM – Kobe Boyce is official to Texas. He hinted at potential big moves for the Longhorns today as well. Could they have snagged Chaisson or Zabie, or both?

7:43 AM – One of our favorite guys to watch last year, Bryson Powers out of Klein Collins, is official with Tulsa.

7:45 AM – It’s always good when you can get a kid from Lancaster!

7:46 AM – UTEP is on the board!

7:47 AM – TiMarcus Davis was originally a Houston commit, he was one of the first to come over to Rhule and the Baylor Bears.

7:48 AM – It’s official for Cedar Hill stud Avery Davis, he’s with Notre Dame.

7:49 AM – Jaylon Lane is one of those guys that’ll be trying to shore up that Texas Tech defense.

7:53 AM – Even without Herman, Houston’s recruiting is humming along.

7:58 AM – Zabie to UCLA. The Longhorns miss on a big OL prospect.

8:01 AM – Baylor is keeping their local guys home, starting with underrated safety Ashton Logan out of Temple.

8:02 AM – More DB help for the Red Raiders is incoming.

8:03 AM – Kennedy Brooks from Mansfield will be looking to keep that OU running back tradition alive.

8:07 AM – Getting a commit from Dickinson means it’s time to post our favorite video ever!

8:13 AM – Xavier Martin was an understated star for Cibolo Steele this year. He won’t be playing QB at Texas Tech, but rest assured, he will be making plays.

8:15 AM – The Dragon OL was DEVASTATING this year. They’re sending one of their best to Baylor.

8:17 AM – John Tyler will always produce talent, that much is a fact. They’re sending some to Texas and Tom Herman.

8:21 AM – Vandegrift was known for their defense this year, but this recruit will play quarterback for the Miners.

8:22 AM – In order to be recruited by Stanford, you have to have brains and brawn. Paulson Adebo of Mansfield is headed to the Cardinal.

8:28 AM – SMU hasn’t made huge waves this cycle, but they’re still moving along well.

8:32 AM – Xavier Martin is one of 28 DeSoto signees. That is not a typo, the Eagles have TWENTY-EIGHT signees.

8:43 AM – Texas Tech struggled across the offensive line in 2016. Two early enrollees from Frisco and this Plano OL should help that depth.

8:47 AM – UT media figures are reporting that K’Lavon Chaisson is leaning heavily towards LSU instead of the Longhorns. Losing both Chaisson and Zabie would be a blow to UT’s class, but how big of a blow remains to be seen.

247’s Crystal Ball projections now have Chaisson leaning towards the Tigers. Still, anything is in play.

8:50 AM – The Woodlands was another one of our favorite teams to follow in 2016. Eric Schmid, their quarterback, will be a Bearkat!

8:57 AM – Oh my, this is a crazy stat.

8:58 AM – Tulsa has had huge success with Texas talent like Dane Evans from Sanger and Keevan Lucas from Abilene. They’re dipping further into the pot this year.

9:02 AM- Levelland QB Nick Gerber, one of the most prolific passers in Texas high school football history is heading to Tyler Junior College to begin his collegiate career.

9:05 AM – Maleek Barkley was absolutely lethal in the open field for Lake Travis. He’s a Razorback now.

9:06 AM – Canadian is an absolute juggernaut, and any time you can pick up one of their guys, you do it.

9:09 AM – Mizzou is eyeing a rebuild, and there’s not a better way to do it than with Houston products.

9:10 AM – Alright, let’s talk K’Lavon Chaisson for a little bit. He has the potential to be a program-changing talent for Texas, but with the Longhorns not getting a Texas top ten guy for the first time in recruiting rankings history, the significance of his commitment changes. It’s now about protecting Texas, and even though losing Chaisson would hurt, losing that Texas recruiting mystique could be an even bigger blow to Tom Herman and company.

9:13 AM – UTEP is still defending the city of El Paso. This is a great get for the Miners.

9:24 AM – UTSA is continuing to recruit well, this time with a Shiner prospect.

9:25 AM – The next round of big commitments is coming up at 10, with two Bishop Dunne prospects. If Chevin Calloway commits to the Razorbacks, they’ll have gained two incredible Texan playmakers with the earlier commitment of Maleek Barkley (Lake Travis).

9:30 AM – Mr. Texas. Football.

9:32 AM – Corey Bethley of Katy is officially a Frog.

9:46 AM – Still a shot for Chaisson, so not completely over.

9:47 AM – Not to be outdone by rival DeSoto, Cedar Hill also had TWENTY-EIGHT recruits sign as well.

9:53 AM – Foster is sending some talent to Texas State!

9:57 AM – Ohio State has plundered Texas so far.

10:23 AM – SMU is still building a solid class.

10:25 AM – Colorado was one of the best college football stories, and they’re stocking up with even more firepower this recruiting cycle.

10:38 AM – Woooh, a lot just happened. Let’s recap:

  • Two Bishop Dunne teammates committed, Calloway to Arkansas and Daniels to Nebraska.
  • Jaylon Mascorro to New Mexico State
  • Trace Mascorro to UTEP
  • Marcus Buckley of Weatherford to New Mexico State

What a flurry!

10:43 AM – Bridges is a name that you might hear again in two years.

10:46 AM – Oh, you know, just another DeSoto commit.

10:59 AM – From earlier this morning – the last UH quarterback from Tyler was Greg Ward Jr., and he turned out pretty well, we think.

11:32 AM – K’Lavon Chaisson chooses LSU over Texas and Florida. This is a huge miss for the Longhorns, as many had him projected to Texas before this morning, when rumblings surfaced that he was heading to LSU.

With that, we have one more big name to go: Marvin Wilson.
