The New Orleans Saints defense has been one of the biggest surprises of the NFL season but will now be without one of their best players for the rest of the season. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, linebacker Alex Okafor will miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon.

The former Pflugerville star was injured in the fourth quarter of the Saints overtime win over the Washington Redskins. After signing a one-year deal in the offseason from Arizona, Okafor was well on his way to a breakout season, finishing with 27 tackles, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 10 starts in 2017.
The Saints will look to keep the momentum going without Okafor on Sunday when they travel to Los Angeles to play the Rams.
