Panthers Put Game Away with 4th and 7 Touchdown

In a District 19-6A battle of local rivals, the Katy Paetow Panthers faced the Katy Cinco Ranch Cougars as the visiting team. The Cougars came into the game at 2-4 on the season and 2-2 in district play, while the Panthers came in at an impressive 4-1 and undefeated in district play.

Paetow took an early two-touchdown lead. The Cougars fought in the second half and made it a game, cutting the lead to 3 points in the fourth quarter, but a Paetow touchdown on 4th and 7 with 1:23 to go clinched the Panthers’ 41-31 win.

Paetow is tied at the top of their district with Katy andh Katy Jordan. They have showdowns with Katy and Katy Jordan in the upcoming weeks with a chance to win the district, and a strong chance to make the playoffs if they win one of those two games. The Cougars of Cinco Ranch will look to rebound next week against a 2-3 Katy Tompkins team.
