Hawkins Polley

Stratford High School

Position: TE / WR

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 238lbs

1. What was the highlight of your 2021 football season?

The highlight for me was beating memorial, it was the first time I was able to be a part of a W over them on a varsity team.

2. What was the biggest challenge you or your team had to overcome this season?

The biggest challenge was probably the adjustment to the new offense. We got a new system and there were just so many new faces and playing styles that we were able use.

3. If you could give advice to an incoming freshmen football player, what would it be?

My brother is actually an incoming freshman at Stratford and I’ve been telling him and his friends to eat and lift. The fastest way to show a coach ur ready and hold your own on the varsity level is to be strong.

4. If you could be a Super Hero, which one would you pick and why?

If I could be a super hero I’d pick JJ Watt.

5. If you had to go to an island and only bring 3 things, what would you bring?

I would bring a basketball court, Chic Fil A sandwiches, and probably my phone or an iPod to play music

 6. If not in the NFL winning the Super Bowl MVP, where do you see yourself in 10 years?

If football doesn’t work out in 10 years I’d love to be a sports writer for one of the major Houston sports teams.

7. What is your go-to pre-game pump-up song?

Lose Yourself- Eminem. One of the best songs ever made.

8. What is your favorite football or sports movie?

The benchwarmer was one I grew up watching a lot, for football specifically I’d have to say The Blind Side.

9. Name a teammate that:

A: Improved the most this year:

Triston Williams- Great Athlete. 6’5 WR who can run routes go get jump balls when called upon really stepped up big against Cy Fair

B: Is most likely to become President:

Linebacker Cooper King

C: Has the best Tik Toks:

Triston has the funniest tik toks for by far

D: Is most likely to become a high school football coach:

Nash Rankin. I think his dad coaches?

10.  Why do you love football?

Growing up I was always the biggest kid, I was told to be gentle don’t hurt anybody, and always being told to hold back. Football was the first time where I didn’t have to. Where being the biggest kid was a good thing. Through football I have learned so many life lessons, starting in January it’ll pay for my schooling. There are just so many places and so many outlets football allows.
