Predictions flying for upcoming realignment in Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex

We are less than one week away from the UIL’s official biannual realignment announcements, and the predictions of potential district matchups are flying.

Everyone likes to make projections, and according to The Dallas Morning News, here is its outlook for the area’s Class 6A, Class 5A, Division I and Class 5A, Division II for the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The official announcement will be made Feb. 3 at 9 a.m. on the UIL website.

After reviewing the story, several of these projections make sense. Seeing newcomers Denton Braswell and Little Elm in District 6-6A makes sense geographically. In District 8-5A, Division II, however, it seems hard to imagine that Carrollton Creekview will land alongside Greenville, Mesquite Poteet, North Forney, Forney, Royse City and Crandall.

Time will tell, but for now, it’s fun to imagine, “What if?”
