If you’re looking for a good high school football game in Central Texas, check out Austin Lake Travis vs San Marcos on Friday night at Toyota Rattler Stadium in San Marcos. The kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
Lake Travis (2-1)
The Cavaliers are 2-1 on the season and are coming off a loss to Rockwall last week. Lake Travis has leaders on both sides of the ball.
On offense, QB Bo Edmundson has passed for 371 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 INT.
But last week vs Rockwall, ATH Nico Hamilton passed for 316 yards, 3 TDs, and 3 INT, and added 77 yards on the ground (245 total rushing yards for the season.)
RB Derrick Johnson has rushed for 357 yards and 3 touchdowns. Last week in the loss to Rockwall, Johnson rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown, and he added a receiving TD. Johnson is a 3-star prospect, according to 247sports.
WR Isaac Norris has gained 319 receiving yards and scored 4 receiving touchdowns, including 167 yards and 2 touchdowns in last week’s game.
The defense returned eight starters from last year’s team and is led by Max Linhoff (18 tackles, 6 TFLs), Markus Boswell (21 tackles), and Jacob Glova (23 tackles-9 vs Rockwell).
San Marcos (1-2)
The Rattlers are led on offense by QB Isaiah DeLeon, who has passed for 513 yards, 3 touchdowns, and one INT. He has also rushed for 229 yards. DeLeon passed for 147 yards and a touchdown last week vs East Central.
RB Jaidyn Brown has accounted for 231 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The bulk of those yards came last week in a 28-16 win over East Central (San Antonio), with Brown gaining 209 yards and scoring three touchdowns.
WR Tony Diaz has gained 246 yards receiving and scored two receiving touchdowns. He had 88 yards receiving last week but was kept out of the end zone.
San Marcos has played Lake Travis one other time, losing last year 58-3. Both teams will be ready to play, looking to improve their records.
