Walnut Grove Key Players and Storylines

However, all of that success came at the 5A Division II level. Now, the Wildcats are looking to replicate it up in 6A.
That’s not the only challenge. Their all-state running back graduated and their starting quarterback from last year has transferred to Argyle. The good news is they have a rock solid foundation in the trenches with 6’3”, 250-pound senior Jackson Hooker, 6’0”, 270-pound senior John Robin, and 6’4”, 275-pound senior Jack Morgan.
Hayden Cooley is also a reliable playmaker at receiver. Already a two-year starter, he led the Wildcats with 61 catches for 837 receiving yards.
Flipping sides of the ball, Walnut Grove is stout up front on defense too. Powerful defensive tackle Kris Williams (31 tackles, 4.5 TFLs) and defensive ends Tylan Henderson-Powell and DJ Henderson (45 tackles, nine TFLs) are all returning starters.
The Wildcats are also set at safety with leading returning tackler Joey Siracuse (57 tackles) and seniors Tony Schumacher and Mickey Hauser (37 tackles).

Despite the loss of offensive production from last year, head coach Tommy Allison is still confident about the talent on this year’s roster. He’s challenged his guys to maintain the success of the last two years even with the jump up two divisions.
