One of the more high-profile jobs in Southeast Texas will be opening up. Per the Port Arthur News, Nederland head football coach and athletic director Larry Neumann is retiring from his position, effective January 31.
Neumann had been with Nederland since 1993 and led the Bulldogs to a share of five straight district titles from 2011-2015. However, they missed the playoffs this past season.
Neumann finishes his time at Nederland with 186 career wins as he led the Bulldogs to the postseason in 19 of his 24 years under his direction. This also includes a run to the state semifinals in 2001.
