Jeff Shelton had always heard that Rankin ISD had a reputation for being a quality school district with a pro-athletic community.
So when Shelton saw that its athletic director and head football coaching job was vacant, he jumped at the chance and applied for the position.
After what Shelton described as a quick job application process, he was approved as the Red Devils’ newest signal caller, starting immediately.
“Rankin has very high standards academically and athletically,” the 44-year-old Shelton said. “It was a good fit for my family.”
