Cash Jones of the Brock Eagles ran for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns on Friday, on only 17 carries!
The Brock Eagles improved to 8-0 with the 49-14 win over Boyd and showed they are the favorites to win the 3A Division 1 UIL State Championship this year.
The matchup between Brock and Boyd was expected to be a close battle. The Boyd Yellowjackets came into the game at 7-0 and 4-0 in district play, having just beat Peaster 46-6 and having put up over 40 points 4 times this season. However, this game was not close.
The game was close early on, with both defenses getting a few stops, but then Boyd started to turn the ball over and Brock took advantage of every turnover. After Boyd threw their first interception, Cash Jones took the ball 68 yards for a touchdown run. Boyd looked to drive the ball down the field again, but when they turned it over again and Jones took advantage with an 86 yard touchdown run to give Brock a commanding 28-0 lead.
Boyd came out of halftime and battled back with a touchdown, but they were never able to stop Brocks running game. Brock ended up with 439 rushing hards. They outgained Boyd 454 to 236.

Boyd will look to improve to 8-1 next week when they play at Pilot Point. The Pilot Point Bobcats are 6-2 and just beat Ponder 18-13. The Brock Eagles will look to stay undefeated as they face Peaster and Pilot Point in their last two games of the regular season.
