Oklahoma has seen its share of great running backs off to the next level such as Billy Sims and Adrian Peterson. Now, the Sooners see their all-time leading rusher off to the next level. Former Sooner star Samaje Perine was selected in the fourth round by the Washington Redskins.

Perine finished his career in Norman with 4,122 yards and 49 touchdowns. He burst on the scene during his freshman season in 2014 when he ran for 427 yards against Kansas to become the NCAA FBS single game all time rushing record. The big running back kept running and running and running all the way to pass Billy Sims’s record in the Sugar Bowl this past season.

His teammate, Joe Mixon, was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the draft on Friday night.

The Pflugerville Hendrickson star shined in high school and in college. Now, he’ll get his opportunity to shine in the pros with the Redskins.
