Last Season: 8-5; 4-2 in district (Lost to Vandegrift in regional semifinals)
San Marcos Key Players and Storylines
Welcome back San Marcos. A senior class that had been ineligible for three years due to recruiting infractions shined when they finally got their opportunity a year ago. The Rattlers went from 0-10 in 2024 to an eight-win season where they went three rounds deep in the playoffs.
Now, the trick will be trying to replace that talented group. Receiver Jordan Lampkin (584 receiving yards and four touchdowns) will be the player to watch after he led the Rattlers receiving corps a year ago. Up front, 6’0″, 265-pound senior RobertMayo was a second team all-district selection as a fullback/tight end last season, but expect him to play on the interior of the offensive line this fall.
Defensively, the Rattlers have some promising juniors. Linebacker Cameron Bundage (85 tackles, 9.5 TFLs) will be a standout after finishing as their second-leading tackler last season. Expect Luke Pactanac (26 tackles, 4.5 TFLs) to slot in alongside him at middle linebacker, while safety Kaden Joseph (59 tackles, three INTs) will be a ballhawk in the secondary.
