Coming into the game, the Indians of Seminole expected a tough challenge in Idalou.
Idalou came into the week’s matchup after defeating Shallowater 17-14. Shallowater is essentially at the same status as the Wildcats, an unknown with being hit hard by graduation. Seminole come into the game defeating a Lubbock High team at home, 44-9.
Seminole would defend their home turf against Idalou, 29-0, and move to 2-0 on the young season.
“I know our defense played well last week,” Seminole head coach Kent Jackson said. “It was a whole different animal for Lubbock High. We have so much respect for Idalou, Coach Lofton and his staff do an unbelievable job. That’s such a class program and so we knew we would have a whole different challenge. We knew it, we told our defense that if they played like they did last week and taking care of each other on the field, they’d have a chance. A zero? I don’t know. Those are rare deals and I’m exceptionally proud of our kids.”
