Shadow Creek Key Players and Storylines
Shadow Creek had three losses in the regular season last year, but all three were by seven points or less. But while they weren’t far off from a 10-0 record, they met their match in the area round of playoffs, falling 51-6 to C.E. King.
The goal this year is a deeper playoff run with 12 starters back. Offensively, the Sharks have quite the bite. Four-star junior receiver Jaylen Addai (779 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns) is a true speedy gamebreaker, senior Aden Starling (405 receiving yards and seven touchdowns) is a three-star prospect, 6’3”, 220-pound tight end Bryce Coleman (322 receiving yards and seven touchdowns) provides a talented big-bodied target, while highly-touted sophomore BJ LaFell is as versatile as they come with the ability to play quarterback, receiver, and defensive back.
Not the way I wanted my sophomore season to end, but I’m grateful for the lessons, the growth, and the brotherhood I gained along the way.

There likely won’t be much need for him at quarterback if Tavis Coleman can stay healthy. The senior provides steady leadership after throwing for 2,441 yards and 37 touchdowns a year ago. Up front, 6’3” 275-pound center Dominick Lee is a calming presence as a three-year starter for the Sharks.
Defensively, the Sharks will benefit from an experienced secondary. Brandon Sherrard is one of the “top cover corners in the area” in the eyes of head coach Tyrone Green, while fellow defensive back Kevin Jackson (32 tackles) is a great tackler and a two-year starter. Up front, 6’0’, 255-pound defensive tackle Deneim Scott (40 tackles, 10 TFLs) brings plenty of grit to the trenches.
Green said the camaraderie among this group runs deep. That togetherness will be big for the ups and downs that can come with a long season as the Sharks eye to compete atop District 19-6A and make a push to get back to Thanksgiving football.
