The leading rusher in high school football in Texas from 2016 has decided where he will play his college football. Silsbee running back Calvin Tyler announced via Twitter that he would be heading out west to play at Oregon State.

The star running back also had offers from Cal, Fresno State, Illinois, and North Texas. In his lone season at Silsbee, Tyler put up some outstanding numbers in his senior year, finishing with 2,861 yards and 29 touchdowns.
In 11 games, Tyler ran for over 300 yards in a game four times in 2016 and over 400 yards twice. He is currently the only commit to Oregon State from Texas in the 2017 recruiting class.
