SMU continues to build up their offensive line in their 2018 recruiting class. On Friday, Jake Syptak of The Woodlands announced his commitment to Chad Morris and the Mustangs.

The three-star prospect chose SMU over offers from Air Force, Bowling Green, New Mexico, North Texas and Rice among others.
Syptak becomes the 14th commit for head coach Chad Morris in the Class of 2018. The Mustangs have the second-best recruiting class in the American Athletic Conference, trailing only in-state foe Houston.
Syptak was a second-team all-district selection as a junior and part of an offensive line that helped pave the way for the Highlanders to the Class 6A Division I state championship game in 2016. With The Woodlands losing several key starters due to graduation, Syptak will be leaned on even more to be a leader up front in 2017.
