Socorro Key Players and Storylines

Offensively, powerful senior running back Adrian Hunt is the name to know. He’s fresh off a season where he rushed for 1,165 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Bulldogs will have a new starting quarterback, but junior quarterback Isaac Anaya (519 passing yards) showed flashes in limited action last year. Expect him to lean on reliable junior Nevin Vale (699 receiving yards and four touchdowns), who led the Bulldogs in receiving yards last season. Up front, center Roman Gonzalez is also back after earning second team all-district honors in 2025.
Sophomore season highlights started only one game and had 600 yards of total offense still, had over 450 yards throwing and rushing in my only game starting. Had 11 total touchdowns @CoachSWUTEP @coachsteveirvin @Coach_E_Cano pic.twitter.com/fMysM1EMnI

Defensively, Socorro has a strong core back defensively as well. Nathan Marquez (73 tackles, two INTs) was a tackling machine from his defensive back position a year ago, while fellow defensive back Jose Felix (43 tackles) is a returning all-district honorable mention. At linebacker, Ethan Fernandez (49 tackles) and Aindreas Acosta (35 tackles, four TFLs) both return after playing key roles in 2025.
Socorro still hasn’t won a district game since 2020, but they weren’t far off from snapping that drought a year ago. They closed their season out with a 13-point loss to Coronado and a seven-point defeat to Montwood. With proven progression under Cano, they’ll be hopeful this year is the year where they break back through in that district win column.
