Sotomayor Wildcats 2026 Season Preview
San Antonio Sotomayor Wildcats
Head Coach: Juan Morales (5th season; 18-25 record)

Returning Lettermen: 27 (4 returning starters on offense; 7 on defense)
Sotomayor Key Players and Storylines

Now, it’s up to the next generation of Wildcats to build on that legacy. Running back Cam Grady (895 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns) is more than ready to carry the load. He only played in five games last year, but he hit the century mark in every single one. That will be big because Sotomayor did lose its quarterback to the private school ranks over the offseason. Expect the new signal caller to lean on senior receiver Xavier Victor (338 receiving yards and three touchdowns), who has played a big role each of the past two seasons.
Up front, 6’3”, 270-pound senior Tristen Bergeron will lead the offensive line. He has the versatility to play either guard or tackle.
🚨ATTN COLLEGE COACHES!🚨
2027 RB Cameron Grady (6’3, 205) from SA Sotomayor HS is one of the most dynamic ATHs in the country.
Has rushed for 2,379 yards (11.6 YPC) & 28 TDs while adding 266 yards & 7 TDs receiving.

Defensively, the Wildcats have a great core at linebacker with 2025 leading tackler Marcus Gutierrez (99 tackles and 11 TFLs) and speedy senior Ayden Williams (80 tackles, six TFLs), a UTSA commit. Up front, 6’1”, 270-pound defensive tackle Jonah Moore (27 tackles and eight TFLs), who is a three-year letterman, will be Sotomayor’s anchor in the middle, while safety Chance Collier (49 tackles, four TFLs) will be the quarterback of the secondary as he heads into his third year as a starter.
For all of the returning experience, there are still gains to be made after Sotomayor’s two district losses last year came by a combined 101 points. Still, head coach Juan Morales believes this group has what it takes to find postseason success after last season came to an agonizing end in a 35-32 loss to Brandeis in the first round of playoffs.
