Southwest Legacy Key Players and Storylines

Not often does a 7-3 record leave you on the outside of the playoff picture, but that’s exactly what happened to Southwest Legacy in 2025. A 19-14 loss to Southside ended up being the tiebreaker that denied them their district’s final playoff spot.

After that heartbreak, there’s plenty of motivation for the Titans this year. They’ll need that hunger as they make the jump to 6A football for the first time in school history.

Starting quarterback Aiden Garcia (1,058 passing yards, eight touchdowns) will provide stability after the graduation of a 900-yard rusher. Junior running back Joshua Fontenette (314 rushing yards and five touchdowns) is ready to step into that starting role, while senior Eltroy Bolden (269 receiving yards, one touchdown) will be Southwest Legacy’s primary target in the passing game.

Up front, 6’1”, 280-pound tackle Jacob Perez and 6’2”, 250-pound guard Alberto Rodriguez will need to carve out some running lanes for an offense that rushed the ball on 65% of plays last season.

Defensively, the Titans will lean on the dynamic duo of linebackers Jordan Wilson (118 tackles) and Henry Hernandez (76 tackles, eight sacks), while senior cornerback John Aguillon (19 tackles) will be the leader of the secondary.

Head coach Robert Bruce noted his team will lack experience in certain spots after graduating 28 lettermen, but he’s been impressed with the group’s overall work ethic. That effort will be key as the Titans look to compete for a top four spot in District 30-6A this fall.
