Strength Against Strength in Cy Fair-Langham Creek Playoff Tune-Up

Two 17-6A playoff teams will go head-to- head Saturday afternoon as the Langham Creek Lobos will host the Cy Fair Bobcats in their final tune-up of the season at Cy Fair Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Saturday’s game will be a contest of strength against strength, and something will have to give as Langham Creek’s unstoppable offense collides with Cy Fair’s immovable defense. The Lobos lead 17-6A in total offense and team scoring with 4,241 yards and scoring an average of 45.9 points a game. Cy Fair is just as impressive on the other side of the ball, carrying the torch for 17-6A in total defense with 2,419 total yards allowed and holding opponents to 15.9 points per game.

Those in attendance at CF-FCU Stadium will be treated to the performance of three Under Armour All-Americans. Among the honorees are Cy Fair’s tight end Brock Wright and offensive tackle Austin Deculus. Wright hauled 22 receptions for 389 yards and three touchdowns this year. Joining them on the field in Orlando will be Langham Creek running back Toneil Carter. Carter has pounded the rock for 923 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. Carter also leads 17-6A in yards per attempt with 7.27 yards a carry.

It has already been determined that the Bobcats will represent their district as the second seed in Division 1 and will face 18-6A’s top seeded Houston Lamar Texans in the first round next weekend.

Langham Creek has also earned an invitation to postseason play, but with district foe Cy Ridge’s 62-45 victory over Cy Springs on Thursday night, The Lobos have been relegated to the second seed of Division 2. No longer in charge of their own destiny, Langham Creek will be paired with the 18-6A Houston Heights Bulldogs in the opening game of the playoffs.
