It’s not every day that you see a freshman with numerous college offers. The lucky young man this time is RJ Mickens, a freshman cornerback from Southlake Carroll.
Extremely blessed and honored to receive an offer from The Texas A&M University #gigem #TAMU 👍🏿👍🏿 pic.twitter.com/9dk5VwoaXC

Mickens was a 1st team all-district selection as a freshman. In addition to A&M, he’s been offered by out of state schools like Duke, Georgia, Nebraska, and Michigan State.
It’s not hard to see that Southlake has a good one for the next three years with Mickens in the defensive backfield. The Dragons had a solid 10-2 record, they just happened to run into the eventual state champions, the DeSoto Eagles, in the second round.
