Texas High School Football Playoffs: Aledo Seeks its Seventh Title in 10 Years

The Aledo Bearcats have seemed to somewhat fly under the radar this year, which is perfectly fine as for the past decade they have become one of the most accomplished programs in Texas history.

The defending 4A champions came off one of the most impressive wins out of all of last years championship games, a 55-19 win over Houston’s Marshall.  Running back and Oklahoma commit Jase McClellan ran for an amazing 47 touchdowns and 2,076 yards last year, and although this year he has came back with only 14 touchdowns this year,I expect a playoff MVP type performance in route to a 2019 title.

The teams signal caller Jake Bishop is one of the more underrated players in Texas.  This year he has thrown for 2,963 yards 36 touchdowns and only one interception. His older brothers won a combined 5 titles for the Bearcats, and after a loss to College Station his Sophomore year he looks to add one more to the family mantel.

Since October 18th the Aledo defense has not given up more than 13 points.  Receiver Jo Jo Earle has caught 11 touchdowns while running for another 11.  Money Parks has taken 15 scores to the bank.

After a 77-7 win against Kimball, the Bearcats prepare to take on Royse City this Friday.
