We asked several top Texas high school football players what the highlight of their 2020 season was.  Here are their answers:

Cade Klubnik, Austin Westlake

Without a doubt the highlight of the season was winning it all with my brothers. we had been through so much together and never once changed our minds and quit. We stayed focused on our goal and sacrificed so much.

Anthony Hill Jr., Denton Ryan High school

Getting to play football with my teammates in this very different type of year.

Player Spotlight: DJ Johnson, Lake Travis

Being able to play football with a pandemic going on.

Calvin Harvey, Ridge Point

The highlight of my 2020 season was beating Atascocita in the 3 rd round of playoffs when everybody said we were going to lose. (55-45) W

Andon Thomas, Liberty Hill

The highlight of my season was making it to the state semifinals. Although the result of the game was not what we wanted, it allowed me to see how much all the work in the off-season payed off.

Bo Edmundson, Lake Travis High School

The highlight of my season this year was being named 6A Built Ford Tough Player of the Week.

Logan Tanner, St. Pius X

The highlight of my 2020 season was the summer workouts. I really enjoyed coming early in the morning everyday and working together with my family to get better and build this program up. It payed off in the season especially after last year when we went 2-8. To finish with a winning record this year really spoke volumes of the work we put in the summer workouts and the off-season.

Ben Hartman, Lake Travis High School

Starting my first varsity home game for sure. We have a tradition before every home game called the “walk of champions,” where our entire team, coaches, and drummers from the band, walk down the main drag to Cavalier Stadium, to the beat of the drums. All the fans are lined up along the walk and are cheering. It’s an amazing feeling, and the first time I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest.

DK Kalu, Ridge Point High School

Making it to the 4th round

Jordyn Bailey, Denton Ryan

The semifinal game against Cedar Park we were up by a td just starting the 2nd half and coach called my number and I scored a TD.

Sean Sallis, Creekview High School

Scoring 3 TDs vs South Hills

Xavier Wishert, Jim Ned High School

The highlight of my season had to be winning the State game vs. Halletsville
