The Kliff Kingsbury era in Arizona is over.

Roughly 10 months after Kingsbury signed an extension through the 2027 season, he was fired from the Cardinals.

He coached the team for four seasons.

Kingsbury finished his NFL head coaching career with a 28-37-1 record.

In the first three years under his tenure, Arizona improved in win totals each season. However, his stay in AZ was marred by late-season drop-offs and undisciplined football, including an estrangement with former Texas HS Football quarterback Kyler Murray.

Born in San Antonio, Kingsbury served as qb for New Braunfels, managing 3,009 yards and 34 touchdowns while leading the Unicorns to the Class 5A Division II semifinals and a 13-2 overall record.

He competed for Texas Tech, had a brief stint in the NFL, and returned to college, eventually becoming the Red Raiders head coach for 6 years.

In 2018, Kingsbury was inducted into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame.

Though no longer blowing the whistle for the Cards, Kingsbury is the frontrunner for numerous offensive coordinator jobs around the NFL. Already, rumors have pointed toward interest from the Houston Texans, New York Jets and the Washington Commanders.

Here is a throwback to a little 2-minute drill video I did 6 years ago, portraying Kingsbury in his Texas Tech days:
