Three Texas teams will compete in the 2015 Battle on the Border Showcase

Yet again, the Gladewater Bears, Lufkin Panthers and Longview Lobos were asked to represent the Lone Star State in the fifth annual Landers Dodge Battle on the Border High School Football Showcase (LDBBHSFS). The Showcase is scheduled over a three-day span from Sept. 10-12 in Shreveport, La. at Independence Stadium.

Power house football teams from Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas will square off in a packed Independence Stadium for 48 minutes in front of approximately 21,000 fans cheering for their respective teams.

Last season the state of Texas went 1-2. Gladewater lost to St. Thomas More (Milwaukee, Wis.), 42-21, and Lufkin lost by a lone score to John Curtis (New Orleans, La.), 32-25. Longview narrowly escaped Neville (Monroe, La.), 19-13.

“The City of Shreveport is proud to partner with Landers Dodge again to bring regional and area fans one of the finest football showcases in the country. This will be a weekend football fans will not forget,” said one of the showcase’s sponsors, Patrick Wesley, Assistant Director of Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation.
