As Week 7 of high school football rolled around, the Tomball Cougars (5-0) faced the Klein Oak Panthers (4-2) on October 11, 2024. Tomball, undefeated, has quickly climbed to #14 in Houston rankings. Klein Oak, though with two losses to Port-Neches Groves and Magnolia, had impressive wins over Klein Cain and Klein Collins.
In the first half, Klein Oak kicked off to Tomball. Both teams showcased tough defenses, and neither offense made significant progress. Tomball quarterback Jaxyn Faldyn and running back Oswaldo Morales were central to Tomball’s efforts, keeping them competitive. Klein Oak’s standout player was Courtland Guillory, who played both running back and defensive back. The half ended with Tomball leading 10-7.
The second half saw Klein Oak start strong, reclaiming the lead with a rushing touchdown. Tomball quickly responded with a rushing touchdown from Morales, regaining the lead. After a long drive, Klein Oak scored again with Guillory breaking free for a 50-yard run. Tomball answered back with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Miles Roy. With just eight minutes left, Tomball’s defense held Klein Oak, forcing a punt. Tomball drained the clock and secured a 24-21 win, staying undefeated.
