Four years removed from his days as a first-team All-SEC and first team All-American wide receiver for Texas A&M, Mike Evans has quickly worked and performed his way into one of the NFL’s top receivers.

The former Galveston Ball High School standout is on the verge of putting his name in the same company as Randy Moss and A.J. Green in becoming the only receivers in NFL history to gain 1,000 receiving yards in each of their first four seasons going into his fourth year with the Bucs.

Evans’ size and athleticism has been an integral element in an upcoming Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that finished second in the NFC South at 9-7 and narrowly missed out on the NFC’s sixth seed playoff spot last year. Despite the shortcomings in recent years, the Bucs have added an assortment of talent on both sides that has the team carrying a little momentum into this season.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to play a preseason game tonight against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Evans will look to once again show that his place among the NFL’s receivers should be with the elite.

Last week, Evans had four catches for 58 yards and had the Buccaneers looking sharp on offense in their first drive of the game.

Evans earned his first Pro-Bowl selection last season and holds the franchise records for most receiving touchdowns in a season and most touchdowns by a rookie in a season and is sure to see the accolades
pile on as he continues to flourish in his young career.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tonight inside EverBank Field and the game will be televised at 7:00 PM on ESPN.
