Top 5 Most Expensive Stadiums In Texas HS Football
TXHSFB has been trending most of the summer.
The viral discussion mostly revolved around Melissa High School. Last month, the school introduced a new $35 million stadium that has since taken the internet by storm. However, the high price tag doesn’t crack Texas’ top 5 most expensive stadiums. Not even close.
There are over 1,200 high school stadiums that host regular-season varsity games in our state, with a combined seating capacity of over four million. One seat per seven Texans means there are more seats in Texas than 24 states in the United States. Additionally, Texas communities also spent about $500 million on over 150 indoor practice facilities.
These are the Top 5 Most Expensive Stadiums in Texas high school football:
5. Woodforest Bank Stadium

About: Located in Shenandoah, Woodforest Bank Stadium is home to all Conroe ISD high school football teams, including: Conroe, Woodlands, Oak Ridge, Coney Creek, College Park, and Grand Oaks. Woodforest National Bank — based in The Woodlands — purchased the rights to the stadium name for $1 million from the Conroe Independent School District.

About: Built to seat the most high school football fans in Texas, often peaking at 24,000 spectators, Allen I.S.D stadium boasts architecture and design that mirrors nearby the Frisco minor-league ballpark.
Since Allen started playing football in the 1930s, the stadium is the school district’s fifth; the previous stadium had a capacity of 7,000 and was built in 1976, when the school had 5,000 students. As of this writing, there are over 20,000 students in the district.

Inspired by Allen’s big spend, McKinney’s construction initially divided residents between those who saw it as excessive and others who longed for a new facility to replace the Ron Poe Stadium, built in 1962.
