Week 7 in Texas high school football saw some outstanding performances on the defensive side of the ball. Below are just a few of those performances.

Top Defenders in Texas High School Football (in no particular order):

LB George Wright, Highland Park:

Wright racked up 13 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and returned a fumble for a touchdown.

LB Donivan Malone, Cedar Hill:

Malone made 13 tackles, three 4th down stops.

S Marquan Pope, Denton Guyer:

Pope returned an INT 35-yards for a touchdown.

DE Michael Gee, Denton Ryan:

Gee was a wild man, recording 12 tackles, three tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, an INT, and 2 sacks.

S Josh Stevens, Forney:

Steven returned an INT for a touchdown in OT to go with 12 tackles.

LB Corey King, Waxahachie:

King racked up 15 tackles and 1 tackle for loss.

LB Junior Saavedra, Hurst L.D. Bell:

Saavedra recorded 15 tackles, three tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 sack.

DE Poasa Utu, Kennedale:

Utu made 10 tackles, seven tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and 4 sacks.
