UIL expands suspension of all activities to include practices; runs through March 29

The glimmer of hope is gone.

The University Interscholastic League officially ended any possibility of any high school football activities in Texas with its latest announcement.

There was a chance players could participate in spring practices that occur prior to the end of the month, but this decision prevents any possibility of players returning to the field — or court or track or pool or anything else — until March 30 at the earliest.

Should spring football be canceled altogether, the UIL states football workouts would resume on Aug. 3 and teams would be able to add an additional scrimmage.

The official UIL press release can be found here.
