UIL News: November 11th Press Release

If you’ve been following the UIL Press releases, the UIL has been busy denying varsity eligibility and upholding their initial rulings. In most of these cases, it is because it is determined that the student did not transfer for academic purposes.

Here is their press release from today.

 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Wednesday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes.

Two student-athletes from Leander High School, three student-athletes from Texarkana Texas High School, and a student-athlete from Hamshire-Fannett High School were denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committees.

9:30 a.m. AA. Leander High School: Appeal of District 25-5A Executive Committee Decision Regarding Eligibility of a Student-Athlete, Section 443, Changing Schools for Athletic Purposes.

10:15 a.m. BB. Texarkana Texas High School: Appeal of District 9-5A Division II Executive Committee Decision Regarding Eligibility of a Student-Athlete, Section 443, Changing Schools for Athletic Purposes.

11:00 a.m. CC. Hamshire-Fannett High School: Appeal of District 21-4A Executive Committee Decision Regarding Eligibility of a Student-Athlete, Section 443, Changing Schools for Athletic Purposes.
