Well, they don’t have to by any means, but UIL sent an email to all of its member schools across the Lone Star State today and is recommending that they shut down their summer strength and conditioning workouts through all of next week. In lieu of potential family get-togethers and social gatherings in celebration of the Fourth of July holiday, the UIL is looking to minimize the risk, stating that with the chance of increased public interaction that could spread Covid-19, they want schools to consider not holding any activities beginning this Friday and resuming back to their workouts on Monday, July 13th.
Rusk, Gladewater, Lufkin and Nacogdoches Highs as these plan to follow these guidelines, while Gillmer, Arp and Tyler ISDs were already planning to take a break on those dates.
