Round Rock Hail Roof Inspection

On Friday night the RRWHS Warriors hoped to end the undefeated streak of the Vipers, as they traveled to play Vandegrift.

Round Rock Westwood

Quarterback Owen Norrwell completed 15 of 21 passes for 174 yards throwing for one touchdown. Norrwell connected with receivers Lane Wood, who had 7 receptions for 103 yards scoring once, and Marquis Murry, who had 5 receptions for 60 yards. The Warriors tried moving the ball on the ground as Demani Stewart rushed for 92 yards on 27 carries, but he wasn’t able to reach the endzone. The Warriors defense made multiple stops as Ananias Vance, Aidan Cheng, and Caius Coy combined for 25 tackles on the night.

Vandegrift Vipers

Quarterback Deuce Adams completed 11 of 18 passes for 174 yards and throwing for one touchdown.  Adams connected with Miles Coleman 8 times for 64 yards scoring once, Brendan Fournier, who had 1 catch for 38 yards, Jase Skoglund, who had 1 reception for 31 yards, and George Farley, who also had 1 reception that totaled 41 yards.  As the Vipers attempted to move the ball through the air, they relied on the ground game as Brendan Fournier rushed for 152 yards on 17 carries and 3 touchdowns. Joining him in the endzone was Kent Sullivan, who had 62 rushing yards on 8 carries and one touchdown. The Viper’s defense was dominant all night as they didn’t give up a score until the 4th quarter.

Vandegrift wins 38-7.

Next week Vandegrift starts their playoff run in hopes of returning to the big stage in Arlington, as they take on Lake Travis at Monroe Stadium. Round Rock Westwood, despite being 7-3, barely missed the playoffs this season, but hopes to return next year.
